An aspirant for the Ogbomoso North State Constituency seat in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Tosin Olanrewaju Adegun, on Thursday, had the privilege of meeting the leader of the Soun-in-Council, Aare-Ago of Ogbomosoland, Oba Samuel Sobalaje Otolorin and other members of the Council as part of consultations ahead of the 2027 general election.
Heon. Adegun, a businessman, entrepreneur, and philanthropist who went to the Palace of Onipakitan of Pakiotan in Ogbomosoland, Oba James Oyetunji Ojo to meet the APC chairman in Aguodo/Masifa ward in Ogbomoso North LGA, Hon. Remi Adedokun.
Coincidentally, Hon. Adegun and his team met the traditional rulers and received their blessings.
Other traditional rulers there included the Oniyaku of Yaku, Oba Sunday Oyeniyi Ojewumi; Alabaa of Abaa; Alabede of Abede.
Adegun, who hosted dignitaries to his birthday party last week, formally informed the traditional institution of his intention to seek the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket and to solicit their prayers, guidance and support.
Speaking during the visit, the aspirant described the traditional institution as a critical pillar of peace, unity and development in Ogbomosoland, stressing that any meaningful political ambition must be anchored on respect for culture and constituted authority.
He noted that his aspiration was driven by a desire to offer effective, people-oriented representation to the Ogbomoso North constituency, adding that his years of community service and grassroots engagement had prepared him for the task.
According to Adegun, he has undertaken several empowerment initiatives, including the payment of WAEC fees for indigent students and the creation of job opportunities for over 250 people.
He said these efforts reflected his commitment to education, youth development and economic empowerment.
