The Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland, Sheikh Dr. Yunus Taliat Olusina Ayilara II, alongside Islamic clerics, faithful, and well-wishers have joined the Khalifa of the Islamic Brotherhood of Nigeria (ISBON) and Chairman of Ejide Enterprises Nigeria Limited, Alhaji Lamidi Monsur Ayoade Ejide, to celebrate the 30th edition of Laylatul Qadr.
Laylatul Qadr, one of the most significant nights in Islam, is observed during the last ten days of Ramadan.
It is marked by intense prayers, sermons, and spiritual reflection, with Muslims seeking divine blessings and forgiveness.
The event, held at Nurudeen Basic School at the Kuye area of Ogbomoso, attracted a large gathering of Islamic scholars, preachers, and adherents from within and beyond the town.
Speaking at the occasion which began around some minutes to 12 midnight of 28th March, 2026, Sheikh Ayilara commended Alhaji Ejide for his unwavering commitment to Islam and humanitarian causes.
He urged him not to relent in his philanthropic efforts, noting that such good deeds would yield rewards both in this world and the hereafter.
The event featured sermons and special prayers delivered by notable Islamic scholars, who emphasized the spiritual significance of Laylatul Qadr and the importance of sustaining acts of charity and devotion.
In his remarks, Alhaji Ejide expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for witnessing the 30th edition of the programme.
He also appreciated the Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomosland, Islamic clerics, and attendees for their continuous support over the years.
“This is the 30th edition of this programme. When we started, we never imagined it would grow to this level,” he said.
Highlighting the contributions of key scholars who have consistently supported the programme, Alhaji Ejide announced a cash reward of ₦1,000,000 each for Sheikh Adamo Thanny; Barrister Dr. Abdul-Lateef Owoode, an Associate Professor from the University of Ilorin’s Department of Islamic Law, and Sheikh Ayilara and his Council.
He noted that the initiative has continued to gain prominence over time, attracting more participants and strengthening its spiritual impact.
Also speaking, a close ally of the celebrant, Alhaji AbdulRahman Gbadegesin, underscored the significance of the night, describing it as a period when angels descend and prayers are answered.
“This is a special period for Muslims. We believe our supplications will be accepted by Almighty Allah. The Laylatul Qadr programme, sponsored by Alhaji Ejide under the umbrella of ISBON, has become a vital spiritual gathering as Ramadan draws to a close,” he said.
The 30th Laylatul Qadr celebration was widely regarded as a testament to Alhaji Ejide’s enduring dedication to faith, community development, and the promotion of Islamic values.

George Ogunlade; former Executive Chairman of the Council Area, Hon. Kabiru Ayoade Akanji; another former Executive Chairman of the O.N.L.G.A, Hon. Ibrahim Ajagbe (popularly called Toskay); former Chairman of Surulere LGA, Ibrahim Gbodeniyi; former Chairman of Ogbomoso South LGA, Hon. Wale Adeleke, former Vice Chairman of Ogbomoso South LGA, Hon. Rasaq Bello; Aljaji Wasiu Olukan; Alhaji Rufai Bello; the Officer in Charge of Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Ogbomoso, Barr.
