The management of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Ogbomoso, Oyo State has restated the institution’s commitment to securing the lives and property of staff and students.
The acting Rector of the institution, Dr. Azeez Olasunkanmi Ojo, stated this as part of the take-aways from a security meeting convoked by the management yesterday.
The meeting, chaired by the acting Rector, Dr. Ojo, was attended by the Registrar, Mrs. Bukola Elizabeth Dairo; the Aresa-Pupa of Iresa-Pupa, Oba Moses Olayiwola, Ajiboye the III, represented by the Alajagusi of Ajagusi, Chief Oladele Oyeyiola; the Divisional Police Officer, Iresa-Pupa, CSP Olusegun Ajayi; District Officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Iresa-Pupa, SC Donatus Uzoma Nwabuisi; AB Yakson, Representative of the Commandant of the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Iresa-Pupa; Mr..Gabriel Manufor from the Directorate of State Services (DSS); Officer-in-Charge of Special Investigation Bureau (SIB), Iresa-Pupa Division, Mr. Joseph Ajibade and the institution’s Coordinator of Security Services, Dr. John Oluwasina Olabode.
Dr. Ojo hinted that key strategies discussed at the meeting would be implemented to the letter.
He said, “In line with FG’s directive that all the institutions are to relate with all the security agencies in their locality. As an institution, we are looking at how we can institutionalise regular security meetings between the management of this institution and the security agents around.
“That is why we have called them for a meeting so that they can advise us on what steps to take to secure our campus.
“The institution has benefitted from the deliberations. We will make the security meeting a regular affair in line with the position of the FG.”
He also hinted that the security of the campus during and after the institution’s 4th matriculation ceremony slated for Thursday, April 2, 2026, was discussed and commented.
“We have also reached out to them to provide adequate security for our visitors, representatives of our regulatory bodies, staff, students, parents and guardians, as well as the general public,” he added.
Dr. Ojo also commended the Aresa-Pupa of Iresa-Pupa, Oba Moses Olayiwola JP, Ajiboye III, who sent representative to the meeting.
