Families, friends, ministers of God, colleagues and other well-wishers gathered at Ayo-Igbala Baptist Church (AIBC), Ogbomoso, to celebrate the first five years of the ministry of the church’s Minister-in-Charge, Revd Sunday Abiodun Ajibowu, and his wife, Mrs Dupeade Ezra Ajibowu.
The appreciation service attracted guests from within and outside Ogbomoso, including Osun State, who came to celebrate the couple’s impactful ministry and selfless service in God’s vineyard.
Delivering the sermon, the Chairman Pastors’ Fellowship of the Ogbomoso Baptist Conference and Minister-in-Charge of Caretaker Baptist Church, Ogbomoso, Revd Dr Sunday Oyeniran, commended members of AIBC for their support and cooperation with their pastor. He explained that the Nigerian Baptist Convention instituted appreciation services to encourage pastors and to enable churches to express gratitude for faithful and dedicated leadership.
Describing the practice as biblical, Dr Oyeniran noted that appreciation services are embraced by churches that understand and value the work of their pastors.
He charged Revd Ajibowu, his family and other ministers of the Gospel to remain diligent, watchful and committed to their divine calling, urging them to continue sowing seeds that will yield eternal rewards.
He also encouraged members of the church to continue loving, praying for and supporting their pastor and his family, while making adequate provision for their welfare.
The event featured goodwill messages and presentations from the Ogbomoso Baptist Conference, Ogbomoso Nazareth, Gilgal and Bethel Baptist Associations, as well as other guests.
Members of Ayo-Igbala Baptist Church described Revd Ajibowu as a compassionate shepherd who is deeply committed to the spiritual and physical well-being of members.
