Fed Poly Ayede Principal Officers visit Alhaji Ejide as philanthropist pledges more support

The Principal Officers of the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State, on Thursday, paid a courtesy visit to renowned philanthropist and industrialist, Alhaji Monsuru Ayoade Ejide, at his residence in the Kuye area of Ogbomoso.
Alhaji Ejide restated his commitment to supporting the institution’s growth and development.
The delegation was led by the acting Rector, Engr. Dr. Temilola Morufat Adepoju, and comprised the Registrar, Mr. Akinololu Akinpade; the Bursar, Mr. Muftau Alao; and the acting Polytechnic Librarian, Mr. Dare Samuel Adeleke.
Others were Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sunday; Adepoju; Assistant Registrar, Establishment, Alhaji Najim Adigun; Engr. Wisdom Uchenna Emekaobi from Directorate of Physical Planning;. Wasiu Hammed from Directorate of Works and Services.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Adepoju commended Alhaji Ejide for his remarkable contributions to education and community development in Ogbomosoland, particularly his support for the Federal Polytechnic Ayede.
She recalled that the Flour Mills Building at the institution’s temporary site in Iresa-Pupa, popularly known as the “Yellow Building,” was generously donated to the Polytechnic by Alhaji Ejide years ago, describing the gesture as a demonstration of his commitment to educational advancement.
“We are deeply grateful for your immense contributions to the development of Ogbomosoland and, in particular, the Federal Polytechnic Ayede. The donation of the Yellow Building remains one of the landmark interventions that continue to benefit our institution,” the Acting Rector said.
Like Oliver Twist asking for more, Dr. Adepoju appealed to the philanthropist for additional support in critical areas, including strengthening campus security, provision of hostel accommodation through Public-Private Partnership (PPP), and other infrastructure needed to facilitate the institution’s planned relocation to its permanent site.
“We have come not only to appreciate you but also to seek your continued partnership. We believe your wealth of experience and wide network will greatly assist the institution in addressing some of its pressing infrastructural needs,” she added.
Responding, Alhaji Ejide assured the management of the Polytechnic of his continued support, pledging to explore further avenues to assist the institution.
“I am committed to supporting educational development. I will continue to look at other ways of assisting the Polytechnic, including linking the institution with developers and other individuals and organisations that can contribute meaningfully to its growth,” he said.
The philanthropist disclosed that he had deliberately chosen to channel the benefits and awards he received from Flour Mills of Nigeria and others into developmental projects in educational institutions.
“I decided that the benefits I received from Flour Mills and others should be used to give back to society through projects in institutions such as LAUTECH, Federal Polytechnic Ayede and others. Education remains one of the best investments anyone can make,” Alhaji Ejide stated.
