The Federal Polytechnic Ayede (FEDPA), Ogbomoso, Oyo State has concluded a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme sponsored by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for staff of the institution.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the training yesterday, the Rector, Dr. Isiaka Tunji Adelabu, who was represented by the former acting Rector, Engr. Dr. (Mrs.) Temilola Morufat Adepoju, appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, and other stakeholders for their support towards making the training possible.
Adelabu, on behalf of the Governing Council Chairman, Hon. Yakubu Dati, and the management of the Polytechnic, encouraged the participants to make effective use of the knowledge and skills acquired during the programme.
The institution’s TVET Coordinator, Engr. Oluwafemi Muhydeen Tijani, also urged the participants to continue to apply the skills acquired during the training and to share their knowledge by training others.
Tijani subsequently showcased some of the projects produced and services rendered by the participants during the training.
The projects included bags, liquid soap, blocks, cakes, garments made, chin-chin, as well as repaired laptops and mobile phones.
He disclosed that the laptop repair group had repaired about 20 laptops free of charge during the training, describing the development as one of the practical impacts of the programme.
He added that two beneficiaries voluntarily gave ₦10,000 and ₦25,000 respectively to the laptop repair group as a token of appreciation for the services rendered.
The closing ceremony was attended by the acting Polytechnic Librarian, Mr. Dare Samuel Adeleke; Deputy Registrar, Mr. G. K. Olatinwo; Deans; Directors; Heads of Departments; and other staff members of the institution.
