NIOB Oyo State chapter visits FEDPA, seeks partnership on human, material resources

The Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB), Oyo State Chapter, has paid a courtesy visit to the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State, Dr. Isiaka Tunji Adelabu, to seek partnership on human and material resources development as well as establishment of the Department of Building Technology.
The delegation was led by the Vice Chairman of the state chapter, Builder Abdulfatai Omolade Olugbade, accompanied by immediate past Chairman, Builder Hezekiah Olaniran; Builder Dr. Ayobami Akinpade, another former Chairman; Builder Rukayat Oluwatoyin Oladipupo and Mr. Qazeem Babatunde Azzez.
In his welcome address, the Rector expressed gratitude to the delegation and appreciated them for choosing Federal Polytechnic Ayede for collaboration.
Speaking during the visit at the Iresa-Pupa campus of the Polytechnic, NIOB Vice Chairman, Builder Olugbade commended the Rector for his purposeful leadership and for the rapid development witnessed in the Polytechnic within a short time of its establishment.
He noted that NIOB is desirous of partnering with Federal Polytechnic Ayede in the areas of exchange of professional human resources for teaching and mentorship, Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES), course accreditation, capacity building, skills development for students in Building Technology, and joint assessment and utilization of material resources and building materials testing.
According to him, the partnership would help bridge the gap between town and gown and promote professionalism and quality service delivery in the building industry.
In his response, the Rector, Dr. Isiaka Tunji Adelabu stated that his administration is committed to partnerships with relevant professional bodies as a strategy to enhance the quality of training, promote skills acquisition and improve the employability of its graduates.
He assured the delegation of the Polytechnic’s readiness to collaborate with the Institute, noting that Federal Polytechnic Ayede has both the human and material resources to sustain a robust and mutually beneficial partnership with NIOB.
In his closing remark, the Registrar, Mr. Akinlolu Akinpade thanked the delegation for the visit and decision to partner with the institution.
The acting Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Mrs. Halimah Odunayo Amunda, was also in attendance.
