The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State, Dr. Isiaka Tunji Adelabu, on Wednesday, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Professor Rasaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, to strengthen partnership between the two institutions.
The visit, which took place at the Vice Chancellor’s Office in LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, was aimed at soliciting more support for the growth and development of Federal Polytechnic Ayede.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Adelabu expressed profound appreciation to the Vice Chancellor and the entire management of LAUTECH for the immense support the Polytechnic enjoyed during the tenure of his predecessor, Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed.
He noted that LAUTECH, as a big sister institution in Ogbomosoland, has been supportive to FEDPA from inception, especially in the areas of human resources, academic mentoring and institutional linkages.
The Rector stated that he was in LAUTECH again to solicit more support, especially in the area of accreditation of more courses and for academic collaboration that would enhance speedy development of the Polytechnic.
According to him, Federal Polytechnic Ayede needs the experience and partnership of established institutions like LAUTECH to consolidate on its gains and expand its academic programmes.
In his response, Prof. Kalilu, who warmly welcomed the FEDPA Rector and his management team to LAUTECH, congratulated Dr. Adelabu on his appointment and assured him of LAUTECH’s continued support and readiness to partner with the Polytechnic.
He assured the Rector that LAUTECH would assist the Polytechnic within its capacity, especially in the area of accreditation, staff development and resource sharing.
The Rector was accompanied by acting Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Mrs. Halimah Odunayo Amunda; former acting Rector and Director of special Duties, Engr. Dr. Mrs. Temilola Morufat Adepoju; acting Directiry, Centre for Information, Communication and Public Relations, Sunday Adepoju; Chief Security Officer, CSP Olayinka Adeleye (retired), among others.
