The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Dr. Isiaka Tunji Adelabu, has paid a strategic courtesy visit to former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Information, Orientation, Values and Ethics, Hon. Segun Odebunmi Bunvic at his Owode residence, Ogbomoso.
The visit was to solicit partnership and industry support towards the accreditation of Mass Communication and other programmes of the Polytechnic.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Adelabu said Federal Polytechnic Ayede is expanding its academic programmes to include Mass Communication, and as part of the accreditation requirements by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), the institution requires strong collaboration with a standard media organization like Brave 91.1 FM, Igbo-Ile, Ogbomoso.
He said Brave FM, as one of the leading private radio stations in Oyo State, has the standard facilities, professional personnel and wide coverage that will be of immense benefit to students for practical training and industrial attachment.
According to him, such town-and-gown partnership is critical to producing graduates who are not only certificated but also professionally competent and industry-ready.
The Rector thanked Hon. Odebunmi for his contributions to broadcasting and youth empowerment in Ogbomosoland and expressed optimism that the partnership will be mutually beneficial.
Responding at the courtesy visit which was also attended by General Manager of Brave FM, Ambassador Sanjo Saka Felele, Hon. Odebunmi thanked the Rector amd his team for the visit and congratulated him on his appointment.
He assured the Rector of his full support and readiness to partner with FEDPA for the successful accreditation of Mass Communication programme.
He commended the Management of FEDPA for its vision and wished the Polytechnic success in its accreditation drive.
The Rector was accompanied by Principal Officers and Management staff of the Polytechnic.
