The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ayede (FEDPA), Ogbomosooyo State, Dr. Isiaka Tunji Adelabu, has solicited the support of a businessman and philanthroist, Alhaji Monsuru Ayoade Ejide, for the construction of hostels and security post at the institution’s permanent site in Ayede, Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Adelabu made the appeal during a courtesy visit to Alhaji Ejide at his kuye residence, Ogbomoso, on Thursday.
In his welcome address, Alhaji Ejide who is also the global leader of Islamic Brotherhood of Nigeria (ISBON), congratulated the Rector on his appointment as the second substantive Rector of the institution and prayed for a successful tenure.
“May the Almighty Allah grant you the wisdom to lead Federal Polytechnic Ayede to greater heights,” he said.
He noted that the position of Rector came with enormous responsibilities, adding that divine guidance was essential for successful leadership.
“The rectorship position calls for responsibilities which only God can assist you to discharge successfully,” Ejide said.
He also advised the Rector to be fair and impartial in the discharge of his duties, irrespective of religion or ethnic background, while ensuring that deserving individuals were appropriately recognised and rewarded.
Responding, Dr. Adelabu, who is a Fellow Chartered Accountant, thanked Ejide for his continued support for the development of the institution and appealed for his assistance in the construction of hostel accommodation and a security post at the permanent site.
According to the Rector, the facilities would facilitate the relocation of the institution from its temporary site in Iresa-Pupa to its permanent site in Ayede, also in Ogbomoso zone.
“The construction of hostel accommodation and a security post at the permanent site will quicken our decision to move the institution from the temporary site in Iresa-Pupa to our permanent site in Ayede, Ogbomoso,” Adelabu said.
In his closing remarks, Ejide pledged his support for the Rector’s request and promised to assist the institution in its quest for growth and development.
Those who accompanied the Rector on the visit included the Registrar, Mr. Akinlolu Akinpade; the acting Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Halimah Odunayo Amuda; the former acting Rector and Director of Special Duties, Engr. Dr. Temilola Morufat Adepoju, among others.
