LAUTECH: Tulcan Energy boss, Tayo Adiatu, to receive honorary doctorate degree

The Chief Executive Officer of Tulcan Energy Resources Ltd, Lagos, Prince Tayo Adeyemi Adiatu, will be receiving an honorary doctorate from the Ladoke Aknitola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo state, Nigeria.
In the letter conveying the intention to confer the award signed by the institution’s registrar, Dr Kayode Ogunleye, the school voted to award the Doctor of Business Administration (D.BA, Honoris Causa) to the business executive in order to honour his contribution to human development and the society in general.
“The University Community searchlight has been beamed on you, in recognition of your contribution to the development of humanity in general. We, therefore, deem it fit to confer on you an Award of Honorary Degree, Doctor of Business Administration, D.BA. (Honoris Causa) during the forthcoming Convocation ceremonies slated for April 29, 2023 at 10.00 a.m. in The Great Hall of the University.”
Going down memory lane the letter further notes, “Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, formerly known as Oyo State University of Technology (OSUTECH) was established in 1990 and is owned by Oyo State Government. The University has been ranked as the best state university in the country by the National Universities Commission (NUC) for more than four consecutive years from 2005 to 2010. The University is currently ranked by NUC as the fourth best university in the country and the best state university in Nigeria for 2022. The University is at the fore-front of producing man-power for the technological growth and development of the country.
“The university has twelve (12) Faculties, a Postgraduate School, sixty-nine (69) Departments, Open Distance Learning Centre, Part-Time Programme with not less than thirty-five thousand (35,000) students across all Faculties and Departments. The institution has produced self- reliant graduates who are contributing their own quota to national and global development, thereby implementing the vision and mission of the University.”
Prince Adiatu who incidentally is a graduate of the institution studying Pure and Applied Chemistry and later bagging MBA Marketing, is an astute businessman of international repute.
He also bagged an Executive MBA degree from the Metropolitan School of Business Management (MSBM), London, UK and concluded the Owner/President Management programme (OPM) at the Harvard Business School, Boston, USA.
Of Iwo, Osun state heritage, he was born and bred in Ogbomoso, Oyo state, being a son of late Prince G.A. Adiatu, the founder and medical officer in charge of the famous Ariyo Maternity Home and Clinic otherwise known as Adiatu Hospital (one of the first generation private health clinics in Ogbomoso) at Odo-Oru area, his name giving the section of the area the forename by which it is popularly known today – Adiatu area.
Tayo Adiatu, a close associate of late former governor of Oyo state, Chief Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala, will host family, friends and business partners to a luncheon after the conferment on Saturday, April 29.
