A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and leader of the House in Ogbomoso South local government area, Hon. Olatunji Alao, has advised the political class of Ogbomoso origin to emulate Ibadan politicians and always seek the development of the community, saying that the seeming lack of unity has affected the development of the community.
Hon. Alao also advised the senator representing Oyo North senatorial district, Dr Abdulfatai Buhari, to assist and connect the House of Representatives members from Ogbomoso zone in order to bring development to the zone and by extension all other members of the National Assembly in the entire senatorial district.
He explained that Hon. Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala of Ogbomoso North, South and Oriire federal constituency and Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola of Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere federal constituency, regardless of party affiliations would achieve if Senator Buhari connects them to the right channel in National assembly and national politics as a whole.
He bemoaned what he called the Ogbomoso style of politics where politicians would not come to drawing board after elections are won and lost.
While speaking with pannigeriannews.com today, he maintained that the style adopted by Ibadan politicians has always paved way for development of Ibadan.
He lamented that in Ogbomoso, politicians toe the path of political parties and not the path of development, contrary to what, he said, obtains in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
“Politicians in Ogbomoso should emulate their Ibadan counterparts. They should allow unity to rule in every sphere of their lives. Before elections, Ibadan people will be divided and after the elections, they will come back to the drawing board in the interest of the development of Ibadan. Teir city’s development tops individual interest.
“It is not so here in Ogbomoso. Even within the same party, there may not be unity and this is really affecting development. If there is unity, our leaders will be a le to make request in one voice for the benefit of Ogbomoso.”
As a grassroots parliamentary leader, Hon. Alao, while calling on Senator Buhari as the foremost legislator and most experienced in Oyo State, said “I beseech our senator, Alhaji Fatai Buhari, to further assist in the development of Ogbomoso, owing to his position in the upper chamber.
“I plead with Sen. Buhari to please show Hon. Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala and, even, Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola the way in the interest of our community.”
