The leadership of True Worshippers Church (TWC), Ogbomoso, has reflected on a decade of spiritual growth, community impact and resilience, while unveiling ambitious plans for expansion and increased social interventions.
Speaking at a press conference to herald the activies marking the 10th anniversary of the church on Sunday, the Lead Pastor, Revd Dr. Niyi Adebayo, described the journey since the church’s founding on May 1, 2016, as one marked by “grace, growth and impact.”
He attributed the success of the church to divine guidance, noting that the ministry was birthed out of obedience to God’s instruction after years of pastoral and evangelistic experience across various Christian platforms, including the Anglican Communion and interdenominational outreach missions.
The cleric recounted that the church began at Jesu O Seun House in the POAT area of Ogbomoso and was commissioned by the President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Francis Wale Oke.
Since then, he said it has grown into a vibrant ministry focused on evangelism, discipleship and community development.
According to him, True Worshippers Church has impacted lives spiritually and socially through initiatives such as the “Ogbomoso Jesus Market,” which provided support to widows, commercial motorcyclists and other vulnerable groups.
He added that the church’s mission is centred on evangelising and discipling believers, driven by what he described as the “4 Fs approach” — Finding, Fetching, Feeding and Fielding.
Reflecting on the journey, Adebayo acknowledged that the church had faced challenges, including what he termed “unprovoked battles and conspiracies,” but noted that unity and faith had sustained the congregation over the years.
He explained that the TWC has, as part of ways of cushioning the effect of hardship on the people, organised Jesus’ Market.
He noted that the church embarks on the intervention by subsidising food items for teeming community members.
Looking ahead, the church unveiled plans to scale up its community interventions, including a partnership with a non-governmental organisation to provide free digital literacy training to students in underserved communities.
“Within the next one year, no fewer than 1,500 students will be trained. We are taking our laptops and other gadgets to schools to prepare them for the future,” he said.
He disclosed that the initiative would commence with a pilot scheme in five government-owned secondary schools in collaboration with the Oyo State Ministry of Education.
Adebayo further stated that the church’s vision for the next decade includes deeper discipleship, broader evangelism, expansion of its ministry and sustained community service.
He called on members and stakeholders, including those in the Diaspora, to recommit to the church’s mission and support its programmes.
As part of activities lined up for the anniversary, the church will host a series of events beginning May 1, including an anniversary lecture and celebration service, special prayer programme, thanksgiving service, miracle rally and community outreaches.
He also expressed appreciation to ministers, partners and notable individuals who have supported the church over the years, emphasising that their contributions have been instrumental to its growth.
He invited members of the public, both within and outside Ogbomoso, to participate in the anniversary events physically or through the church’s online platforms.
