The grand finale of the 25th Annual Maolid Nabiyy, organised by the Vice-Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Professor Rasaq Olatunde Kalilu, will hold today, Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Great Hall of LAUTECH, Ogbomoso.
Themed “Islam and Personal Health,” this year’s programme focuses on the importance of maintaining good health and responsible personal wellbeing from an Islamic perspective.
The grand finale will feature two keynote lectures. The first, titled “The Surgeon and Preventive Health,” will be delivered by Dr. Najeem Idowu, Lecturer and Consultant Urologist, Department of Surgery, LAUTECH.
The second lecture, “Healthy Eating and Responsible Stewardship of the Body,” will be delivered by Dr. Jelili Quadri, Senior Lecturer, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, LAUTECH.
The programme will be held under the distinguished chairmanship of High Chief Yousuf Kasali Oladipo, the Abese of Ogbomosoland.
As part of activities marking the occasion, a free medical screening will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., while the lectures are scheduled to run from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The annual Maolid Nabiyy provides an opportunity for members of the university community, Muslim faithful and the wider Ogbomoso community to reflect on the teachings of Islam while promoting knowledge, healthy living and responsible stewardship of the human body.
