The Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN), through its Director-General, Prof. Sola Adepoju, has donated a completed Agro-Forestry Enterprises Centre to the Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, Oyo State.
Handing over the centre built at the permanent site of the Institution at Ayede, to the Institution recently, Prof. Adepoju, who was represented by Engr Oladayo Awodele, stated that the agro-forestry project remains the property of the Polytechnic and called for its optimal and advantageous uses by the Polytechnic.
The Rector of the Institution, Engr Dr Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, represented by the Institution’s Chairman of the Project Monitoring and Evaluation Committee and Director of Physical Planning, Arch. Dr Kolawole Opeyemi Morakinyo, thanked the donor (FRIN) and the facilitator (Prof. Adepoju) whom he described as a good ambassador of the host community, Ayede, in Ogo Oluwa local government area of Oyo State.
He said, “Let me on behalf of the Governing Council, led by Prof. Dakas C. J. Dakas (SAN), Principal Officers and the entire staff of the Federal Polytechnic, Ayede thank the facilitator and the donor of this laudable project being handed over to us today for the development of our Polytechnic.
“I make bold to say that the facility will be judiciously used for the good and benefits of the Polytechnic. It is our fervent prayer that God will continue making your ways prosper.”
The project include Nursery Building, Nursery Shed, Nursery Bed, Wire Fence, Borehole, and Nursery Tools (wheel barrows, watering cans, watering rubber hose, rain boots, head pans, shovels, hand trowels, garden rakes, hand gloves, cutlass, knives, garden trowels/forks).
Other members of the Committee present at the ceremony were: the Director of Works and Services, Engr Ibrahim Lamidi; Head, Department of Business Administration and Management, Mr Saheed Abiodun Tijani; Head, Polytechnic Library’s Technical Services, Mr Dare Samuel Adeleke; and Mr Olutayo Ajala from Registry Department.
