Flour Mills of Nigeria (FMN) Plc, on Monday, donated a building to Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Ayede, Oyo State in honour of Alhaji Monsur Ayoade Ejide of Ejide Ayinde Enterprises.
The building, containing a lecture room, an office and toilets, was in appreciation of the illustrious son of Ogbomoso community for his outstanding contributions to the Flour Mills of Nigeria B2C 2021/2022 business performance.
Speaking at the event, the facilitator, Alhaji Ayoda Ejide, appreciated the institution for the opportunity given to him to contribute his quota to its development and progress.
He also assured the institution of more intervention projects, saying that Ogbomoso’s development ranks highest in his interests and urging other eminent Ogbomosoland indigenes to embrace the development of the land.
He said, “I want to specifically thank our Royal Father, Oba Olayiwola, for coming to me to make the request that has now translated to the project being commissioned here today.
“Let me also reitrate my sincere commitment to the development of Ogbomoso as well as this institution. Whenever you call us for more of this, I will, by God’s grace, oblige.”
Earlier in his welcome address, the Rector of the Institution, Engr Dr Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, lauded the gesture of Flour Mills Nigeria through Ejide Ayinde Enterprises led by Alhaji Ayoade Ejide and the contributions of Oba Olayiwola towards the realisation of the project.
Also speaking, the Are-Ago of Ogbomosoland, High Chief Sobalaje Otolorin; Aresa-Pupa of Iresa-Pupa, Oba Moses Olayiwola Ajiboye III and the Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland, Sheikh Teliat Yunus Ayilara commended the efforts of the donor and the facilitator for their magnanimity.
The Registrar of the Polytechnic, Mr Akin Odesola, represented by Deputy Registrar, Mr G.K. Olatinwo; Bursar, Mrs Rashidat Titilola Oladepo, represented by Deputy Bursar, Mr Lukman Buari; Polytechnic Librarian, Dr Samuel Oke Ogunniyi were part of the event.
In attendance also were the Dean of Management Sciences, Mr Azeez Olasunkanmi Ojo; Dean of Science and Technology, Dr Muftau Oyewale Akintunde; Acting Dean of Engineering Technology and Agricultural Technology, Engr Dr T. M. Adepoju; Acting Dean of Environmental Technology, Arc. Dr Kolawole Opeyemi Morakinyo; Acting Dean of Students’ Affairs, Mr Musbau Afolabi, among other religious leaders, high chiefs and chiefs.
