The acting Director of the Centre for Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development at the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State, Mr. Oluwaseun Owojori, has congratulated Professor Taiwo Akanji Olaiya-Owojori on his appointment as the Governing Council Chairman, Federal Polytechnic Ede Osun State.
He also rejoiced with Dr. (Hon) Adekunle Adeniji, a former Chairman of Ife Central Local Government Area; Rt. Hon. Olanike Omoworare; Hon. Segun Fanibe and Hon. Rotimi Makinde on their appointments to serve on the governing councils of some Federal Government institutions.
He charged the appointees to key into the trending skills and entrepreneurship development in order to help students of their various institutions become employers of labour and stand on their own after their graduation.
Professor Olaiya-Owojori was, untill his appointment, Head, Department of Public Administration, Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
He said that Prof. Owojori, an accomplished academic, astute administrator, politician, and cerebral technocra, has the capacity to add values to any organization.
He advised the new Chairman of the Governing Council to support and drive the mantra coined by the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) under the leadership of Professor Idris Bugaje, that is, “Skills But Not Degree”.
He assured the Federal Polytechnic Ede Community, his alma mater, that the new Chairman will leave up to their fair and realistic expectations.
Dr. (Hon) Adeniji is a former Chairman of Ife Central Local Government Area.
The acting Director said, “Hon. Adeniji, also known as KONGO, is a political colossus, accomplished administrator and retired at University Registrar cadre. He is a Public Administrator par excellence. Obafemi Awolowo University and Ile-Ife Communities can testify to this, having served the two communities at a different times.”
“Rt. Hon. Omoworare is a bridge-builder and point of unity for family and friends. I appreciate her roles is sustaining natural and political family till date. You are a trail-blazer from when you were the Deputy Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, up to when you were appointed as Commissioner for Federal Matters during the regime of Governor Isiaka Oyetola, and now.”
He enjoined Rt. Hon Omoworare to lend her support on Skills and Entrepreneurship in the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE).
In the same vein, he felicitated Hon. Segun Fanibe and Hon. Rotimi Makinde on their appointment as members of the Governing Council of their respective federal institutions, wishing them well and enjoining them to contribute their own quota to the development of the institutions, especially on skills and entrepreneurship development.
Owojori, who is also a lecturer in the Department of Business Administration and Management at the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State, rejoiced with His Imperial Majesty, Oba Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi and Arole Oduduwa for the appointment of these Ife indigenes.
He said the appointments signal more good things to come to Ifeland.
“It is a new dawn of the Oduduwa race and mostly especially indigenes of Ile-Ife,” he, stated.
