The Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, has installed Prince Samuel Oyebamiji Oyedeji as the Mogaji of Bolanta Ruling House of Soun.
Pannigeriannews.com reports that the immediate past Magaji of Bolanta Tiling Family, Prince Samson Oyediji Oyedeji, died in 2022.
There are five Soun Rulings Houses: Olaoye, Odunaro, Gbogun, Aburumaku and Bolanta Royal Families.
Since demise of Prince Oyediji Oyedeji of Bolanta, the position has been vacant and the now installed Magaji has been holding the responsibility in acting capacity.
Speaking at the legendary Abata, Soun Palace, Ogbomoso, Oba Olaoye, who commended the loyalty and steadfastness of Mogajj Samuel Oyedeji to the throne of Soun, warned the Mogaji not to renege on fostering unity, peace, and development of the family, Soun stool and Ogbomosoland as a whole.
Oba Olaoye said, “This chieftaincy of Magaji is a title for the old. But I told Prince Samuel Oyebamiji Oyedeji that he should be of elder’s wisdom. He stands with the throne of Sound. I have observed him, even while acting as the family’s mogaji.”
Oba Olaoye, however, warned that Prince Oyedeji should steer clear of acts capable of undermining the family, Soun and Ogbomosoland.
“He has been told not to sabotage or undermine the honoured throne of Soun of Ogbomososland.
“I have told him that he would be removed any tume he misbehaves. Mogaji Oyedemi, don’t conspire against the throne.
“You are installed to be a beacon of unity. Do not divide the Bolanta family. You must act as an old man because it is a position for old persons. I am convinced that you possess the qualities needed to direct the Bolanta Royal Family well.
“You are expected to unite the ruling house. Please, be reminded that after Laoye Ruling Family, it is the turn of Bolanta, I want you to set the right standards of what mogaji should be as the youngest of the five of them,” said Oba Olaoye.
Prince Oyedeji thanked the Soun, Balanta family, the entire Soun Rulings Families, and re-pledged his commitment to Ogbomosoland and its development as led by Oba Olaoye.
