By Sunday ADEPOJU
I have systematically, as a concerned citizen, assessed the successes r otherwise recorded by the lawmaker representing Ogbomos South, Ogbomoso North and Oriire federal constituency, Hon. (Capt.) Adejumo Jacob Ajao within three years of his representation at the Green Chamber. Hon. Ajao was elected to represent his constituency on the platform of the Action Democratic Party (ADP). As a fresh legislator, he has contributed within his powers to bring dividends of democracy to his constituents.
There are a lot of issues greeting his intentions to re-contest the in 2023. One of the theories is that Ajao does not perform as far as his duties are concerned. Another hypothesis is that the intention of the son of former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, Mr Olamiju Alao-Akala, is a serious clog in realising his second time ambition in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Beyond rumours, it is Crystal clear that the lawmaker has defected to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to realise his second time ambition on the party’s platform come 2023.
The issue which catches my attention, as a reporter, is the allegation that Hon. Ajao does not record successes. This piece, therefore, is an investigation of Ajao’s strides as a first timer in the National Assembly. More, the Eleruko-born politician in Aaje/Ogunbado/Oke-Agbede ward in Ogbomoso North local government area of Oyo State was the only House of Assembly legislator elected on the platform of the ADP in 2019. As a candidate of a minority party, some people have viewed that Ajao would have performed more than he did if he had been elected on the platform of any of the major political parties like the APC or the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
After a thorough investigation of his representation, Pan-Nigerian News verified some of his achievements so far in the area of capital projects, employment opportunities, empowerment opportunities, among other numerous areas. This reporter visited some of the projects facilitated, embarked upon and completed by Hon. Ajao as compiled by his media team. The reporter also contacted some of the beneficiaries of his facilitated employment opportunities.

Given these achievements of Hon. Capt. Ajao, the electorate and the constituent could objectively judge his representation in the last few three years he was elected. It is important for the constituents to compare his achievements with other ‘first timers’ in the National Assembly. Not only that, they should consider the platform upon which she was elected, a minor political party.
