
The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has granted full accreditation for the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State’s programmes and an approval to commence another National Diploma (ND) programme.
The NBTE granted full accreditation for the instittion’s first four ND programmes: Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Science Laboratory Technology, and Statistics as well as an approval to commence ND Office Technology and Management.
The Rector, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, in a statement by the institution’s Protocols and Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sunday Adepoju, said the result of the accreditation exercise held between April 10 and 12, 2025 represents 100% success as all the requests were granted.
The statement read in part, “I, the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, am proud to announce that we have achieved 100% success in the recent accreditation exercise conducted by our regulatory body, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), between April 10 and April 12, 2025.
“This milestone underscores the Polytechnic’s commitment to excellence in technical and vocational education.
“In a further endorsement of the academic growth of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, the NBTE has also approved the commencement of a new ND programme, Office Technology and Management, in the School of Management Sciences.
“With the full accreditation and approval to start the new programme, we now have 13 ND programmes.”
Dr. Abdul-Hameed explained that beyond the five programmes, the institution also offers ND Accountancy, Business Administration and Management, Public Administration, Urban and Regional Planning, Estate Management and Valuation, Tourism Management Technology, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, and Agricultural Technology.
Dr. Abdul-Hameed thanked the NBTE for granting the full accreditation.
“For this and other successes we have recorded, I must commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR); Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa; Minister of State for Education, Dr. Suwaiba Sa’idu Ahmad; Executive Secretary of the National Booard forTechnical Education, Prof. Idris Bugaje; Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Arc. Sonny Echono, among other critical stakeholders whose role cannot be quantified.
