The Majority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin, has charged Christians to draw enduring lessons of love, sacrifice, humility and compassion from the celebration of Christmas, noting that the values embodied in the season remain vital to peaceful coexistence and sustainable development in society.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Aremu Mikky Adeyemi, the lawmaker, who represents Ogbomoso South State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, described Christmas as a period for sober reflection on the birth of Jesus Christ and its significance to humanity and urged believers to translate the lessons of the season into practical acts of kindness, tolerance and unity in their daily interactions.
Hon. Adedoyin called on residents of the state to continue to live peacefully with one another and remain law-abiding, stressing that collective responsibility and mutual respect are essential to the growth and stability of Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
Adedoyin also commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his compassionate, people-oriented and visionary leadership, saying the Governor’s policies and programmes have continued to positively impact the lives of the people and deepen good governance in the state.
According to him, the Makinde-led administration’s commitment to inclusive development, improved security, infrastructural development and social welfare reflects true leadership driven by empathy and service to humanity.
Hon. Adedoyin urged citizens to remain supportive of government initiatives aimed at economic recovery and social progress, adding that unity and resilience are necessary to achieving lasting peace and development.
He wished Christians a joyful Christmas celebration and prayed for renewed hope, good health and a peaceful, prosperous New Year 2026.
