Ladoke Akintola University of Technology is set to hold its 74th Inaugural Lecture today, Thursday, with a focus on Nigeria’s vast and untapped earth resources beyond the Niger Delta region.
The lecture, titled “Revealing the Nation’s Hidden Treasures Beyond the Niger Delta: Insights from Molecular Fingerprinting of Earth Resources,” will be delivered by Prof. Taofik Adewale Adedosu, a scholar and researcher in the field of organic geochemistry.
The event is scheduled to take place by 12 noon at the Great Hall, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, while guests are expected to be seated by 11:45 a.m.
According to the university, the inaugural lecture will explore scientific approaches to identifying and harnessing earth resources across different parts of Nigeria through molecular fingerprinting techniques.
The presentation is expected to shed light on opportunities for national economic diversification, resource exploration, and sustainable development.
Adedosu is widely respected for his contributions to geochemistry and earth resource studies.
He is also a member of several professional bodies within Nigeria and beyond.
The lecture will hold under the distinguished chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Rasaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu.
Members of the University community, researchers, students, policymakers, and other stakeholders are expected to attend the academic event, which forms part of LAUTECH’s tradition of promoting scholarship, research, and intellectual engagement on issues of national relevance.
