The candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire Federal Constituency, Dr. Adekunle Samson Adegbite, has officially emerged the candidate to
to contest for the House of Representatives seat, promising purposeful and people-oriented representation.
Dr. Adegbite, who emerged as the party’s candidate for the constituency, made this known in a message delivered shortly agter his emergence, where he expressed gratitude to God and appreciated members of the party and supporters for the confidence reposed in him.
He stated that his decision to contest was not driven by personal ambition alone, but by compassion, conviction and commitment toward improving the welfare of the people across Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire Federal Constituency.
According to him, the move was inspired by the challenges confronting unemployed youths, struggling women, neglected rural communities, traders, students and elderly citizens yearning for responsible leadership and effective representation.
Dr. Adegbite stressed that the people of the constituency deserve quality representation capable of addressing their pains, hopes and aspirations through responsive leadership and impactful legislation.
The NDC candidate noted that leadership must be rooted in service rather than self-interest, adding that he had consistently demonstrated commitment to humanitarian service through his Twindad Foundation.
He explained that the foundation had supported orphaned and vulnerable children, empowered youths and women, assisted struggling families, promoted educational and healthcare support, while also using football competitions as a means of youth engagement, talent discovery and discouragement of social vices.
Dr. Adegbite maintained that true leadership should be measured through consistent impact, accessibility, sacrifice and integrity, rather than empty political promises.
Speaking on his visits to communities across Oriire Local Government Area, the NDC candidate lamented the poor state of infrastructure, inadequate healthcare facilities, insecurity, unemployment and insufficient government presence affecting many communities.
He said the experiences further strengthened his resolve to contribute meaningfully to the development of the constituency through effective legislation and empowerment initiatives.
The philanthropist pledged commitment to policies and programmes that would empower youths, improve healthcare delivery, support education, promote agriculture, enhance infrastructure development and strengthen security across the constituency.
He also promised transparency, accountability and accessibility in leadership, stressing that he would serve as a bridge between the people and government.
The NDC candidate appealed to traditional rulers, youths, women groups, artisans, market leaders, students, religious leaders and other stakeholders across the constituency to support his candidacy and work collectively toward building a better future for the people.
He expressed optimism that together, the people of Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire Federal Constituency could achieve meaningful development and renewed hope through quality representation.
