The management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has honoured one of its distinguished alumni, Dr. Edison Christian, following his recent recognition as the World’s Best Asia Clinical Acupuncturist in Integrative Medicine for 2025–2026.
Dr. Christian, who is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mystical Rose Clinic Limited, was received by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, alongside other principal officers during a courtesy visit to the institution on Thursday.
A 2007 graduate of the Department of Pure and Applied Biology with a specialization in Environmental Biology, Dr. Christian has built an impressive career in clinical acupuncture and integrative medicine, earning international acclaim for his contributions to the field.
Beyond his professional achievements, he serves as Chairman of the Nigeria Association of Clinical Acupuncturists, Peace Ambassador of Nigeria and Envoy to the Pan African Assembly. He is also the Assistant Secretary and Public Relations Officer of the Association of Catholic Medical Practitioners of Nigeria (Lagos State Chapter).
Speaking during the visit, Professor Kalilu congratulated Dr. Christian on the prestigious global recognition, describing the award as a source of pride to LAUTECH and a testament to the quality of graduates produced by the institution.
The Vice-Chancellor also commended the alumnus for returning to celebrate the milestone with his alma mater, noting that his achievement would serve as an inspiration to current students and young graduates.
He further hinted that the university may consider introducing formal academic programmes in integrative medicine as part of efforts to expand its health sciences offerings.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategy and Development), Professor Tunde Ogunkunle; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Innovation), Professor Dauda Araromi; and the Registrar, Mrs. Olayinka Balogun.
Also present were Professor Adija Ogundola and Mr. Michael Popoola of the Department of Pure and Applied Biology, Rev. Fr. Patrick Adewuyi, Chaplain of the Catholic Chaplaincy, LAUTECH, and Aleksandr F. J. Oise, representative of AIICO Insurance PLC.
The visit provided an opportunity for the university community to celebrate Dr. Christian’s outstanding accomplishment and reaffirm LAUTECH’s commitment to producing graduates who excel on the global stage.
