The School of Science and Technology, Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Ogbomoso, Oyo State has announced plans to host its 1st International Conference with the theme, “Empowering Communities Through Science, Technology and Innovation.”
The three-day conference is scheduled to hold from September 8 to 10, 2026, at the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Iresa Campus, and is expected to bring together scholars, researchers, industry experts, policymakers and other stakeholders to deliberate on innovative solutions to contemporary societal challenges.
According to the organisers, the conference is designed to promote research collaboration, knowledge sharing and practical innovations capable of driving sustainable community development through science and technology.
The conference will feature presentations on diverse sub-themes, including food sustainability and nutrition; environmental conservation and remediation; local resources utilisation and hospitality; materials science and green technology; biomedical and biotechnology; digital inclusion and energy technology; communication networks, data management and artificial intelligence; software innovation and ICT for development; agribusiness and agricultural extension innovation; as well as mathematics in scientific discovery and technological innovation.
The organisers have invited scholars, researchers, industry professionals and practitioners to submit original research papers related to the conference theme and sub-themes. Abstracts are to be submitted via fedpasstconference2026@gmail.com.
The conference registration fee has been fixed at ₦25,000 for participants.
The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Adebanjo Adekigbe, Chief Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and former Dean of the School of Applied Sciences, Federal Polytechnic Ede, Osun State.
Plenary sessions will be led by Engr. Dr. Oluwafemi Jacob Ayangbekun, Acting Dean of the School of Engineering Technology, Federal Polytechnic Ayede, and Mrs. Onaolapo Adijat Abosede, immediate past Dean of the School of Agricultural Technology of the institution.
The conference will be hosted by the acting Dean, School of Science and Technology, Dr. Khadijat Ayanpeju Abdulsalam, while the acting Rector, Engr. Dr. Mrs. Temilola Morufat Adepoju, will serve as the Chief Host.
The institution urged interested participants to take advantage of the conference to exchange ideas, showcase research findings and contribute to advancing science, technology and innovation for national and community development.
