The acting Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ayede (FEDPA), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Engr. Dr. Temilola Morufat Adepoju, has expressed appreciation to individuals who donated prizes for the successful hosting of the 2026 3rd Annual Rector’s Cup.
Dr. Adeloju described the donors’ generosity as a demonstration of their commitment to the growth of sports and youth development in the institution.
Dr. Adepoju conveyed the appreciation through the institution’s acting Director of the Centre for Information, Communication and Public Relations, Mr. Sunday Adepoju.
Speaking on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, staff and students of the Polytechnic, Dr. Adepoju said, “On behalf of the Governing Council led by Honourable Yakubu Dati, Management, staff and students of the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, I sincerely appreciate all our esteemed donors for their generous support towards the successful hosting of the 2026 3rd Annual Rector’s Cup.
Your donations and encouragement have added value to the competition and further demonstrated your commitment to sports development and the overall growth of our institution.”
She specially appreciated Engr. Prof. G. A. Adepoju of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology LAUTECH, Ogbomoso; Hon. Adesoji Adedeji, All Progressives Congres (APC) deputy governorship candidate in Oyo State, represented by Mr. Inaolaji Akinloye Adisa; Alhaji Adeniyi Monsuru Adebayo, Founder of the Adeniyi Monsuru Adebayo Foundation and Managing Director of Tera & Pico Engineering and Construction Sevices Limited, Osogbo; and Head of Department of the Champions, Dr Muftau Akanmu Popoola for donating prizes and gift items for the winners of the competition.
The acting Rector also commended the Polytechnic Sports Committee, led by Mr. Bashiru Olufihan Bello, for its dedication, hard work and excellent coordination, which culminated in the successful organisation of this year’s tournament.
She further applauded all the participating teams for displaying discipline, teamwork and a high level of sportsmanship throughout the competition.
Dr. Adepoju congratulated the Department of Business Administration and Management for emerging champions of the 2026 Rector’s Cup, while also congratulating the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology and the Department of Public Administration for finishing in second and third positions respectively.
She urged the students to continue to embrace sports as a tool for promoting friendship, healthy living, discipline and leadership, assuring them of the Management’s continued support for sporting activities and other initiatives that contribute to the holistic development of students.
The acting Rector restated the Polytechnic’s resolve to sustaining the Annual Rector’s Cup as a platform for nurturing talents, strengthening unity among students and promoting excellence in sports.
