The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Dr. Isiaka Tunji Adelabu, has felicitated Muslims in the Polytechnic, Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud, commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Dr. Adelabu, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), in a statement by the institution’s acting Director, Centre for Information, Communication and Public Relations (CICPR), Sunday Adepoju, urged Muslims to use the occasion to reflect on the virtues and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
He particularly advised Muslims to show peace, love, compassion, humility, tolerance and peaceful coexistence to all, regardless of religious affiliation.
Dr. Adelabu said, “I wish to, on behalf of the Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, ably led by the Chairman, Hon. Yakubu Dati (fnipr); Management, staff and students of the Polytechnic, felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters in Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Nigeria and the rest of the world on the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud.
“Eid-el-Maulud is an occasion for Muslims to commemorate the birth and reflect on the exemplary life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), particularly his virtues of peace, compassion, honesty, tolerance, humility and love for humanity.
“I therefore encourage us all to use this occasion to renew our commitment to peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and service to humanity. These values remain essential to building a peaceful, united and prosperous Federal Polytechnic Ayede and Nigeria.”
Dr. Adelabu called on members of the Polytechnic community to celebrate responsibly and continue to promote mutual understanding and peaceful relationships, irrespective of religious or other differences.
He prayed for continued peace, progress and prosperity in Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Nigeria and the world while wishing Muslims a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Maulud celebration.
