The Women Missionary Union (WMU) of Ayo-Igbala Baptist Church (AIBC), Jerry Awodoye, Randa area, Ogbomoso, on Sunday, honoured three outstanding women.
The honour was given during Mother’s Day celebration which held in the church auditorium.
The women honoured included Mrs. Felecia Oyelekan Afolabi, Dns Eunice Romoke Alagbe and Mrs. Elizabeth Akanji.
In her sermon at the Mother’s Day service centering on the theme “My Mother, My Model”, Wife of the church pastor, Mrs. Dupe Ajibowu, charged mothers to be models to countless other women, ladies and girls around them.
Ajibowu tasked the women folk to be alive to their responsibility of being good models
“God calls us to train our children in the way of the Lord. Now is the time for us to lay solid foundation for our families. Let us be alive to our responsibilities as good mothers and wives. Our lives should glory God and be sources of blessings unto others.
“We are the book that this generation reads.”
Speaking on behalf of the two other awardees, Dn Alagbe said, “It was marvelous celebrating us during the programme. This honour was not, in any way, taken for granted. We thank our families, friends, and the church of God.
“For the gifts presented to us, God will replenish your treasure.
“I pray that God will complete the church building which is still under conatuction. Great help will locate us as a church in Jesus’ Name.”
Dns Alagbe prayed for the Minister of God, Rev’d Sunday Ajibowu and his wife, Mrs. Dupe Ajibowu, the entire pastorate, deaconate, church Executive Committe, church members and more.
