The Federal Polytechnic Ayede has charged the Muslim Ummah to reflect on the core values of obedience, sacrifice, love and devotion as Muslims across the world celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kkabir festival.
The institution made the call through an Eid-el-Kabir message delivered on behalf of the Management by Engr. Dr. Temilola Morufat Adepoju through the institution’s spokesperson, Sunday Adepoju.
Dr. Adepoju felicitated members of staff, students and the entire Muslim faithful on the joyous occasion, urging them to imbibe the virtues demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim and upheld in the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
She noted that Eid-el-Kabir remains a significant period for sober reflection, renewed commitment to God and service to humanity, stressing the need for Nigerians to continue to pray and work for peace, unity and national development.
She said, “On behalf of the Governing Council led by Hon. Yakubu Dati, Management, staff and students of the Polytechnic, I celebrate all Muslim Ummah on the festival of Eid-el-Kabir.
“I charge Nigerians all to exemplify the teachings of Prophet Muhammad by promoting peace, tolerance, compassion and love for one another irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
“As we celebrate, let us continue to pray for the progress of our dear nation and support efforts geared towards national unity and sustainable development.”
Dr. Adepoju further wished Muslims a peaceful, joyful and spiritually rewarding celebration, while encouraging all citizens to continue to uphold values that foster harmony and mutual coexistence in the society.
