The Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, on Tuesday, inaugurated the institution’s Students’ Union Government (SUG) Caretaker Committee.
Performing the inauguration during the 10th Management Committee Meeting, the acting Rector, Engr. Dr. Temilola Morufat Adepoju, said, “The decision to put the SUG in place is long overdue.”
Dr. Adepoju stated that the committee’s terms of reference include drafting the SUG Constitution, conducting credible SUG elections, handing over to the elected SUG officers, among other responsibilities.
At a separate session, the acting Dean of Students, Mr. Bolarinwa Stephen Ojo, explained that the Caretaker Committee, saddled with the mandate, would serve for three months and is expected to deliver on its assignment.
Mr. Ojo read out the names and portfolios as follows: Comrade Adunola Phillip, from the Department of Computer Engineering, as Chairman; Comrade Ajayi Ifeoluwa, from the Department of Agricultural Technology, as Vice Chairman; Comrade Owolabi Grace, from the Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) Department, as Welfare Secretary; and Comrade Philip Marvelous Oluwaseyi, from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, as General Secretary.
Others are Comrade Folaranmi Mojeed Alabi, from the Department of Business Administration and Management, as Financial Secretary; Comrade Busari Adijat Bose, from the Department of Business Administration and Management, as Assistant Welfare Secretary; Comrade Ajadi Abdulrahmon, from the Department of Tourism Management Technology, as Public Relations Officer; Comrade Inakoju Mojeeb, from the Department of Public Administration, as Treasurer; and Comrade Nasirudeen Haofulah, from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, as Assistant Secretary.
