A House of Representatives hopeful for the Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire Federal Constituency, Dr. Kunle Adegbite, has condemned the abduction of teachers and pupils in Ahoro-Esinele and Yawota communities , Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Dr. Adegbite, a psychiatric mental health specialist and founder of the Twindad Orphanage Home, Twindad Foundation, among others, described the incident as disturbing and unacceptable, calling on security agencies and relevant authorities to intensify efforts toward the immediate rescue of the victims.
Last Friday, exactly eight days ago, suspected armed bandits were reported to have stormed the affected communities and abducted teachers and pupils from the schools, creating panic among residents and families.
Reacting to the development, Adegbite said the increasing cases of kidnapping and attacks on innocent citizens have continued to raise serious concerns among Nigerians, stressing that people want to see concrete actions and successful rescue operations.
He urged security operatives not to relent in their efforts, noting that the safe return of the abducted teachers and pupils should remain a major priority.
According to him, attacks on schools and rural communities threaten peace, education, and the overall wellbeing of society.
The philanthropist also sympathised with the affected families and prayed for the safe return of the victims.
He prayed that God would protect the abducted persons and reunite them safely with their loved ones.
