On May 29, 2019, Engr. Seyi Makinde was sworn in as the 28th Governor of our dear pacesetter state. Since then, he has not only lived up to expectations but has consistently raised the bar for governance across Nigeria.
It is no exaggeration to say that under his watch, Oyo State has witnessed transformative growth in key sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and the economy at large.
From the prompt payment of salaries on 25th of every month and pensions to massive investment in road networks and rural development, Makinde has proven that good governance is possible when competence meets vision.
During his appearance on Politics Today hosted by Seun Okinbaloye on Channels TV, the Governor boldly stated that he is indeed capable of leading Nigeria as a president.
And for me, he didn’t even have to do much convincing — Seun himself acknowledged the remarkable progress recorded under the Makinde administration, especially in terms of economic indicators and data-backed development.
In an era where Nigeria craves accountable, visionary leadership, it’s no surprise that conversations around his potential presidency are gaining momentum.
If performance in Oyo State is anything to go by, then Makinde isn’t just capable — he’s ready.
