United States-based philanthropist, Dr. Kunle Adegbite, has obtained the expression of interest form of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to contest for the Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Oriire Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The seat is currently occupied by Hon. Olamijuwonlo Adebayo Alao-Akala, who is also seeking re-election.
Adegbite, who recently hinted on his intention to join the race for the Green Chamber, is widely known for his humanitarian activities and community development initiatives both in Nigeria and abroad.
The US-based medical personnel and president Ogbomoso Youth in North America is the founder of the Twindad Foundation, a non-governmental organisation known for supporting widows, youths, students, and other vulnerable groups through empowerment programmes and charitable interventions.
He is also the owner of Twinax Luxury, a business brand with interests in lifestyle and auto dealership services.
Political observers believe Adegbite’s decision to officially obtain the form signals the beginning of what may become an active political campaign in the constituency, especially considering his growing popularity among youths and grassroots supporters.
Supporters are optimistic that Adegbite may formally declare his ambition and unveil his manifesto during an NDC stakeholders’ meeting scheduled to hold on Friday in Ogbomoso.
The development comes amid increasing political activities and consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections across the country.
