Omooba Adedamola Olaniyan commissions boreholes, solar lights, backs Bunvic, Ali/SOJ, APC candidates

The ancient town of Oko in Surulere Local Government Area of Oyo State was agog on Sunday as Omooba Adedamola Olaniyan of the Oranmiyan Dynasty commissioned solar-powered boreholes and over 100 solar-powered street lights to improve the welfare of residents.
The projects, facilitated by Omooba Olaniyan as part of his community development efforts, attracted traditional rulers, political leaders, youths, and residents from within and outside the community.
Speaking at the commissioning, Omooba Olaniyan said the interventions were driven by his commitment to improving the living conditions of his people, not by any immediate political ambition.
“Today is about giving back to the community that raised me. I did not embark on these projects because I am contesting for any political office. My greatest desire is to see my hometown develop and our people enjoy basic amenities. The future belongs to God, but for now, my focus is service to humanity and the progress of our community,” he said.
He also urged the people of Oyo Central Senatorial District to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
According to him, the governorship ticket of Senator Sarafadeen Alli and his running mate, Hon. Adesoji Adedeji (Iba-Agba), offers the best prospect for sustaining development in Oyo State.
He equally appealed to voters in the Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency to support Hon. Segun Odebunmi (Bunvic), describing him as the most experienced candidate for the position.
Representing Hon. Odebunmi at the event, Prince Adesina Adedokun Aremo-Oranmiyan of Okoland commended Omooba Olaniyan for his selfless commitment to the development of Oko.
He said the projects reflected genuine concern for the welfare of the people, noting that they would improve access to potable water, enhance security through better street lighting, and boost socio-economic activities in the community.
Prince Adedokun also called on residents to support APC candidates in the 2027 elections, saying the projects align with the developmental objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Among dignitaries at the event were Prince Adepoju Amos Akinade, Mr. Moses Olushadow, the National General Secretary of the National Association of University Students (NAUS), Comrade Olayinka Tiamiyu, political associates, community leaders, and other well-wishers.
Residents described the projects as timely interventions that would improve the quality of life and accelerate development in the ancient town.
