Amid pomp and beauty the 67th founders ‘day celebration of Akinorun grammar school, Ikirun which brought together old students of the school from inception was held in the premises of the wave making citadel of learning.
The great reunion kicked off Friday 8th May 2026 with a keep -fit walk tagged walk to live and medical outreach programme aimed at putting participants in the right frame of mind ..it was , indeed, an exhilarating moment for the greater tomorrow current students marching through major streets of Ikirun alongside alumni products of the school to the administration of the good people of Ikirun who cheered them and prayed effusively for the old , the young and the school that has in no small mrasure contributed to the growth and development of the host community and the nation at large.
The guest speaker, public communication expert and media aficionado , MD / CEO Rave 91.7 FM, Dr Femi Adefila in his well researched paper themed Relationship Management: Benefits of old Students Association charged the august assembly not to think only about enormous benefits derivable from subscribing to old students association but but also the burdens by not only being active participants in the association ‘s programmes but also realise that without paying annual dues and meeting up with financial obligations their is little or nothing the association can achieve.
While drawing experiences from the commendable contributions of Ivy league schools across the world, our country’s Balewa college which has so far produced five number one citizens of the country Dr Femi Adefila said the benefits of active and meaningful participation in old school activities are in quantifiable.. in this everyone for himself God for all of us ,age of globalisation the guest speaker averred that old students ‘ association remains one of the most structured , powerful and enduring system of of relationship management. .
President AGSOSA National body Prof . Tunde Farombi, deputy Vice Chancellor, Chrisland University enjoined members to wake up to the Clarion call, rededicate themselves through full participation in efforts geared towards repositioning the school in order to sustain the highest academic standard which for decades has been the hallmark of Akinorun grammar school. .
Highlights of the occasion included presentation of awards , cultural display and a pledge of borehole and toilet facilities by the Chairman of the occasion.
