As the 2027 elections gradually draw nearer and and nearer, conversations around credible representation are gaining momentum across Oyo State. For Ogbomoso North State Constituency, one name is increasingly resonating among stakeholders, youths, and grassroots mobilisers and that is Hon. Adebayo Akinyode.
In a democratic setting where effective representation is closely tied to experience, exposure, and network, Akinyode presents a profile that blends competence with capacity. His ambition is not just another political aspiration; it reflects a growing demand for tested leadership capable of delivering tangible development.
Born in Minna, Niger State, but deeply rooted in Ile Asipa, Osupa Ward of Ogbomoso North Local Government Area, Akinyode’s journey reflects a fusion of national exposure and local commitment.
His academic background stresses his intellectual depth. He holds a B.Tech from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, an MBA from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, and is currently advancing his expertise through an Executive MBA at the Rome Business School.
Beyond academics, his political trajectory spans about two decades, particularly within Niger State, where he built a reputation as a strategist and grassroots mobiliser. He was part of the campaign structure that supported the emergence of former Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu, in both 2007 and 2011 elections.
Akinyode also served as Personal Assistant to Umar Nasko, who held key positions as Commissioner and Chief of Staff in Niger State. These roles exposed Akinyode to the inner workings of governance, policy implementation, and public administration.
In 2019, he served as Head of Campaign Logistics for the Niger State PDP Governorship candidate, demonstrating his organisational strength and strategic planning ability. His eventual return to Ogbomoso politics marked a significant shift, one driven by a desire to contribute directly to the development of his ancestral home.
Akinyode contested in the 2023 electoral cycle under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), participating actively in various primaries, including the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, and Governorship races.
His involvement across multiple levels reflects both his ambition and his broad understanding of Nigeria’s political architecture.
Professionally, he is a seasoned entrepreneur and Managing Partner of Global Brand Resources Ltd, a firm with operations in Abuja and Lagos, specialising in construction, supply chain management, and integrated marketing communications (IMC). This private sector experience positions him as someone who understands economic development beyond theory.
In a significant political realignment, Akinyode joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) at a well-attended event in Apake, Ogbomoso. The move aligns him with the broader objective of consolidating support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and strengthening the party’s structure ahead of 2027.
For many observers, his defection signals not just political repositioning, but a strategic alignment with a platform that could enhance his capacity to deliver dividends of democracy to Ogbomoso North.
At a time when constituents are demanding results-driven representation, Adebayo Akinyode’s blend of political experience, academic excellence, and private sector exposure makes him a compelling contender.
As the race unfolds, the people of Ogbomoso North will ultimately decide. But if experience, preparedness, and vision are key indicators, Akinyode has clearly positioned himself as a strong force in the journey toward a more prosperous constituency.
First, within the APC, Akinyode solicits support of leader, stakeholders amd members. The APC, as the party to beat, will come out victorious and deliver good governance across the length and breath of Nigeria under the leadership of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the second phase of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
