The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ogbomoso Zonal Chapter, has condemned the recent attack allegedly carried out by bandits on Ahoro-Esinle community, describing the incident as unfortunate, barbaric and a serious threat to peace and security in the area.
The council, in a statement jointly signed by its Zonal Chairman, Comrade Taiwo Saheed, and Zonal Secretary, Comrade Marvelous Alaba, respectively expressed sympathy with the victims, affected families and residents of the community over the incident.
According to the statement, no community should be subjected to fear, intimidation and insecurity caused by criminal elements.
The youth body called on the Federal Government and Oyo State Government to strengthen security presence in the affected community.and beyond and ensure adequate protection of lives and property.
The council also urged security agencies to intensify efforts towards combating banditry and other criminal activities threatening peaceful coexistence in rural and urban communities across the zone.
“The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ogbomoso Zonal Chapter, strongly condemns the recent bandits’ attack on Ahoro-Esinle community and describes the incident as unfortunate, barbaric and a threat to the peace and security of the people,” the statement read.
The council further appealed to relevant authorities to ensure that those responsible for the attack are apprehended and brought to justice.
NYCN reaffirmed its commitment to advocating peace, security and the welfare of the people at all times.
