The pupils and teachers abducted during the attack on schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State have been rescued by security agencies.
The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced the development on Friday via his Facebook page.
“Finally, all the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Oriire, Oyo have been rescued by our security agencies,” Onanuga wrote.
The victims were abducted on May 15 after suspected gunmen attacked L.A. School and Community Grammar School in Ahoro-Esiele, Oriire Local Government Area. During the attack, a teacher was killed, while several pupils and teachers were taken into captivity.
Details of the rescue operation are yet to be released as at the time of writing this report.
