The Sanctuary Choir of Ayo-Igbala Baptist Church (AIBC) located on Jerry Awodoye street, Randabout area, Ogbomoso has marked her 2024 songs service.
At a colorful event held in the church auditorium, there were series of music renditions by the church’s Sanctuary Choir, Teenagers’ Choir, Children Choir.
The music pastor of the church, Pastor Zacchaeus Bankole, while appreciating the church, through its pastor, Revd Sunday Abiodun Ajibowu, expressed optimism that the choir would continue moving higher in the service of God in His vineyard.
He, therefore, charged every member of the congregation to identify their individual talents and, particularly, join in advancing God’s kingdom..
In his message to the church through songs, Pastor Bankole dwelled on giving praises to God always, with focus on Psalms 117: 1 – 2 and 96: 1 – 13 as scriptures.
He charged the church and Christians, as a whole, to cultivate the habit of praising God regardless of their challenges.
“We should not praise God to bribe Him; rather, Christians are meant to praise God always. That is what our God feeds on,” Pastor Bankole.
Bankole highlighted some ways of praising God: through lifting of our hands, by declaring His praise, danciing, clapping of hands, by bowing, kneeling, prostrating, among others.
He noted that praising God brings peace and joy to the worshippers, adding that God fights the battle of anyone who gives praises to God.
in her welcome address, the Choir Mistress of the church, Mrs Felicia Adepoju, lauded what she called the gigantic contributions of Revd Ajibowu, Pastor Bankole, choristers, instrumentalists, patrons and patroness of the choir and particularly the parents as well as the spouses of the choristers.
She also thanked the church generally for their support.
Speaking on behalf of the patrons and Patroness (Dn Abiodun Okeniyi, Mr Ademola and Dr Funmi Oke), Dn Okeniyi congratulated the church and choir, expressing thanks to God for the role being played by the group.
“I want to really, on behalf of my colleagues, congratulate the church and the choir for the beautiful job being done. You all look beautifulon your attires. I pray that you will continue to be relevant in the household of God,” Okeniyi stated.
Beyond beautifully rendered special numbers, another highlight of the event was a call by the choir asking the church to identify particular songs that had touched and blessed them.
